Jacqui has been working with my daughter towards her Lamda qualifications for many years now. They have worked together, progressing through the stages and are now working towards grade 7 silver medal level. Charlotte has received all but one distinguished awards. Jacqui makes the lessons fun, challenging and inspiring. Coming up to exam time, Jacqui always goes the extra mile with lots of support given. I cannot recommend her highly enough
Charlotte’s mum
Jacqui is a creative, kind and supportive teacher. She’s helped me achieve distinctions in 4 of my LAMDA exams and I’m now working towards my grade 5.

- LAMDA Qualifications
We offer expert coaching and training for LAMDA exams — perfect for aspiring performers or anyone looking to build confidence and develop strong communication skills.
- LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) is the UK’s largest speech and drama examination board. Their internationally recognised qualifications provide a fantastic way to enhance acting technique, vocal strength, and self-expression.
- LAMDA exams help children and young people:
- Track their progress and earn certificates
- Receive personalised feedback from highly trained examiners
- Build confidence and presentation skills
- Gain UCAS points for university entry (Grades 6–8)
- Who Can Take LAMDA Exams?
- No previous experience is required!
- Learners simply need a sufficient level of English to communicate and perform effectively. With the right preparation, all students can perform to the best of their ability and enjoy the process.
- Our Approach
- Acting Out is dedicated to helping students develop their craft, build confidence, and gain valuable experience for a successful future – whether that’s in acting, public speaking, or beyond.
- Class Structure
- Lesson length: 30 minutes
- Location: Bristol, UK, or online via Zoom
- Format: One-to-one or two-to-one sessions
- If your child is new to LAMDA, the first class will focus on exploring the different exam options and establishing the right grade level.
- If they have previous LAMDA experience, we’ll continue from their most recent grade.
- We offer classes in:
- Verse & Prose
- Acting
- Reading for Performance
- Devising Drama
- Public Speaking
- Each week, we’ll rehearse set pieces together and assign a small amount of practice work for home. Over the weeks, students build confidence, learn their material, and prepare for their exam — though there is no obligation to take the exam.
- Exam and Certification
- When ready, students can be entered for a LAMDA exam near their home or online.
- After around six weeks, you’ll receive an Examiner’s Report and an official LAMDA Certificate.
- Grades range from Introductory (1) to Grade 8 Gold Medal, which is equivalent to an A Level qualification.
- Grades 6–8 (Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals) are recognised by UCAS and carry tariff points.
- What You’ll Gain
- LAMDA classes help students:
- Build confidence and self-expression
- Improve articulation, projection, and body language
- Enhance vocal tone, pace, and pitch
- Develop focus, discipline, and creativity
- And most importantly – we have lots of fun, with warm-up games and expressive drama activities every week!
- In Bristol
- Students attending in person will work one-to-one or two-to-one with the teacher and bring their LAMDA folder of pieces to each session.
